Blade Free High Definition LASIK Vision (HDLV) Refractive surgery involves procedures that reduce refractive error such as myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness) and astigmatism.
LASIK is a procedure in which a thin surface corneal flap is created using a laser keratome to expose the underlying corneal tissue. An excimer laser is then applied to reshape the cornea based on the patient's pre-operative refractive error. After application of the laser, the corneal flap is repositioned. We are offering blade free High Definition LASIK Vision (HDLV) using a Wave Front corneal topographer and an excimer laser. Blade free vision is provided by using the Intralase laser. This enhances the procedure's safety and accuracy. The visual recovery is rapid.
PRK procedure does not involve creation of a corneal flap but a similar excimer laser treatment is applied based on the patient's pre-operative refractive error. If you are interested in laser vision refractive surgery, make an appointment today with Dr. Jonathan Kaufman.
