Would you like to decrease your dependency on glasses or contact lenses? This is now an option with the use of premium lifestyle lens implants. Individuals suffering from cataracts previously had only a monofocal lens implant option after surgery. NEW multifocal IOL technology provides multiple ranges of vision: near, intermediate and far, giving you the opportunity to reduce or even eliminate your dependency on glasses!

Did you know there is now advanced testing available for diagnosing macular degeneration? Macular Risk® is a DNA test that identifies genetic markers associated with Macular Degeneration. By analyzing these genetic markers along with smoking history, we can identify who needs more frequent eye examinations and who may benefit from eye vitamins.

Hearing your spouse, children or grandchildren, the turn signal of the car, music, a bird singing are all sounds of daily life. Diminished hearing, however disrupts our connection to life and we may find ourselves withdrawing from activities, our families or friends. While most hearing loss develops slowly over many years, it most often affects sounds differently. Initially it may go unnoticed and what is missed is easily accommodated. Usually it is the family that calls it to our attention long before we are aware of any problem. Simply turning up the volume or asking them to repeat what they say is not a permanent answer. The only way to know if you are experiencing hearing loss is to have your hearing professionally tested.
Your sense of hearing is worth protecting. Causes of hearing loss vary from simple wax build-up to more serious tumors along the auditory nerve. Other causes include the aging process, prolonged exposure to high noise, certain medications, recurrent ear infections and family history. Ringing of the ears is generally a symptom of hearing loss. Sometimes underlying medical conditions contribute to hearing loss and successful rehabilitation is frequently dependent on early detection and treatment. The Hearing Improvement Center is equipped to provide comprehensive diagnostic audiometric evaluations using state of the art equipment. Evaluations quickly provide information concerning the nature and degree of the hearing problems and determine the best course of treatment.
